BMW decided to set-up the new factory for manufacturing about 150,000 cars per year in Debrecen, Hungary. There are reasons why this investment is not done in Romania – worth to be discussed separately. However, suppliers from Romania are in short distance to Debrecen, e.g. Cluj-Napoca is in a distance of 220 km, Timisoara of 240 km. German suppliers can get closer to BMW by manufacturing in Romania. But attention: highly attractive location for foreign investors, Uzhgorod in Ukraine, is even closer.
