Call for nominations for Danubius Young Scientist Award 2019 is now opened. Each organizations can nominate maximum 3 young scientists (max. 5 years after master degree or PhD degree). The award will be endowed with 1,200 Euros for each winner of the young scientist award. Candidates for the Danubius Young Scientist Award can come from all scientific disciplines. This award will be granted to 14 young scientists: one of each country that is part of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Romania and the Ukraine).<\/p>\n
The nomination of the award candidate cannot be made by the candidate himself\/herself but he or she has to be nominated by their hosting scientific organization (university, academy of sciences etc.). It is expected that the award ceremony will take placein the context of the Annual Meeting of the Danube Rectors\u2019 Conference in Bucharest in November 2019.<\/p>\n
Moreover, thanks to the ongoing kind support by the JRC, the awardees will be invited by the European Commission\u00b4s Joint Research Centre to visit the JRC in Ispra, Italy in 2020.<\/p>\n
The Danubius Award was created in 2011 by the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) to honor persons with extraordinary scientific achievements and output in relation to the Danube Region.<\/p>\n
